South House’s events for Rad Frosh
Here are the SoHo’s events for Rad Frosh. More will be added as dates and times are set.
1. Clothing Swap
Monday September 9th
6286 South St.
Free! But we will be collecting non-perishable food items
Because school is expensive and more things should be free.
The South House is having another clothing swap! Bring your (gently used) clothing. As always, we welcome and encourage a wide variety of sizes, styles, etc.
We’ll also be collecting donations of non-perishable food items to help stock our community cupboards. The SoHo’s cupboards are full of food that can be used or taken by anyone who needs it.
Donations can be brought to the event or dropped off at the South House between 10-2 starting next week (Monday, Aug 26th).
2. South House Volunteer 101
Saturday September 14th OR Saturday September 28th
12:00-6:00 p.m. with light dinner served.

Free for SoHo members and volunteers/Suggested donation of $5 for others
Interested in becoming a volunteer with the South House and learning more about what we do? These sessions are for you! This day long workshop gives potential volunteers all the information they need to hold office hours, sit on committees and work at the South House.
The session will take place twice, so you can choose between days. You can attend the workshop on September 14th OR the session on September 24th.
RSVP by emailing Jean at firstname.lastname@example.org
This year, these workshops will also be open to the public. We will ask that anyone who is interested in attending as a member of a partner organization donate $5 to help cover the cost of dinner.

Committee leaders and volunteers will make plans for the upcoming year.

The South House and The Bad Bad Book Club are SO excited to be screening KRUTCH during Rad Frosh. KRUTCH is a steamy, experimental short film exploring perception, sexuality, disability and gender on the streets and sheets of New York City.
The screening will be followed by a discussion and workshop (details TBA).
Location TBA but it WILL be fully accessible. Check out their website here: http://www.krutchfilm.com/index.html
5. InDesign for Activists
Monday September 23rd
The South House presents InDesign for Activists. While we aren’t InDesign experts, we do use the program all the time to keep costs down and make beautiful buttons, posters, stickers, pamphlets, newsletters, workshop manuals and zines.
This workshop is designed as a skill-share that will cover InDesign basics that will help you make all the materials your small organization/initiative needs.
* If you have a computer with InDesign feel free to bring it along, but it’s not necessary!
