Space
South House offers a large space that is available for folks to use and come hang out!
We offer a feminist library and free meeting space for community and students!
Library
The South House has a library of over 600 books, journals, and videos and DVDs on topics ranging from feminist philosophy to women’s history, health, spirituality, sexuality, gender, racism, and theories of oppression. We have materials for both personal reading and research. These materials may be borrowed from our library for up to two weeks.
The South House Library is open to all community members. Like the rest of our services, the library is gender inclusive.
South House also runs a Rad Feminist Book club Monday evenings at 7pm.
Meeting Space
South House offers free meeting space to groups with an anti-oppression philosophy. We can host workshops, potlucks, board meeting, retreats and much more. During office hours, only certain spaces can be booked. However, during off-hours and weekend, the whole space can be booked for your larger events.
Representatives from organizations wanting to book the space should:
- Email the coordinators to ensure that the space is available (time slots are first come first serve);
- Fill out a key and space agreement form and bring it to South House;
- Email the coordinators a week in advance to confirm that their representative has been placed on the key list.
