Our Board of Directors
The board of directors is the decision making body of the centre. It is composed of 6-10 individuals, 2/3 of whom must identify as women. There is always at least one women-identified Dalhousie student, and one women-identified University of King’s College student on the board. Any community member can run for a place on the board so long as they a) agree with the objectives of the DWC, b) take on leadership roles when needed, c) support the centre whenever possible. The board serves as the employer for the paid staff at the centre (administrative and volunteer coordinator, outreach coordinator) and oversees all operations of the centre. The board also makes recommendations regarding changes to the by-laws, policy or constitution of the DWC. Finally, the board is responsible for maintaining the finances of the centre.
