Desert Heat Feat. DJ Regalia + DJ Jafar
July 28, 2017 @ 10:00 pm
A celebration of queer and trans brown bodies through beats from the MENA regions. Come on OUT and show us that your hips don’t lie!
We are requesting a donation of $2-$5 at the door.
DJ Regalia is queen of the electric slide, funky chicken and hard bass boogie. She has operated dance floors in Halifax since 2009 with the intention of making safe spaces for everyone to get down. consensually.
DJ Jafar – Birthed from a plume of smoke and a dash of glitter, DJ Jafar is here to make all of your queer coded villainous dreams come true. They are especially interested in melodramatic Iranian pop music and capes… but all they really want is to play music that reminds you of home, your amu’s wedding, your first crush at your local multicultural festival (that your baba kinda pressured you to perform at), gossiping over chay, and the smell and taste of perfect zereshk polo. See you on the dance floor azizams!
